Biography
“Dixon proves himself capable of delivering an affecting, memorable track that lingers beyond its runtime” (Stuck In The Moment review, NE Volume magazine, September 2025).
Jim is 23 and lives in the suburbs of Durham City in County Durham. Artists such as Jake Bugg, Bruce Springsteen and Sam Fender are major influences. Jim writes songs with raw and honest lyrics about his life, detailing his personal struggles, feelings and emotions.
His debut song ‘To Say So’ was released on 30 May 2025 and his second ‘Stuck In The Moment’ two months later on 1 August.
Jim’s songs have, in a few short months, struck a chord with listeners worldwide, achieving nearly 12,000 streams. His music has featured on the BBC Introducing North East radio show on Radio Newcastle and Tees, as well as many other independent stations. He has also received positive reviews from local music press in the North East such as Narc and NE Volume.
Recent gigs in August and September 2025 have included NE Volume Bar, Stockton, a near sell-out charity gig for suicide support organisation IfUCareShare at Bede Lodge Social Club, Framwellgate Moor, Durham that raised £620, and The Bunker, Sunderland.
On 2 November he plays his biggest gig to date – The Cluny, Newcastle – closely followed later that month with an in-store acoustic set at HMV Sunderland.
